About Among Oaks

Rooted in a place, guided by a purpose

Among Oaks is a learning and gathering project rooted in the Moianès countryside. It brings together nature, practical experience and thoughtful exchange to support meaningful learning and relationships.

The project is taking shape around Mas Garfís and Montjoia, within a 52-hectare estate of woodland, meadows and paths. This landscape holds many layers of history. Its houses, ruins, stone walls and former holiday-camp buildings preserve traces of the people who have lived, worked and spent time here.

Among Oaks carries this history of gathering into a new educational and creative chapter.

Connecting knowledge and experience

We are interested in the connections between disciplines, generations and ways of knowing.

A question about the forest might lead us into ecology, local history or artistic observation. Cooking can open a conversation about culture, food and care. A shared task can become an opportunity to practise listening, cooperation and responsibility.

These connections inform the experiences we develop and the way we welcome participants.

A clear direction, with room for discovery

Among Oaks has a defined philosophy and educational approach. Within that framework, we value curiosity, thoughtful dialogue and the different experiences people bring.

We welcome participants, educators, artists, researchers, craftspeople and organisations whose interests connect with this purpose. Relevant partnerships can enrich the programme and deepen its relationship with the surrounding territory.
